Smoothie King at the center of playoff madness

The home of the New Orleans Pelicans has helped put Smoothie King on the map not just in The Big Easy, but throughout the country. After all, that’s what happens when your brand name is plastered on the indoor arena that houses a major American city’s pro b-ball team (not to mention the many other events that take place there - see the video above!).

And now Smoothie King’s investment will pay off even more, as the Pelicans will be facing off against the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs. At least two games of the potentially seven-game series will take place at the arena, and those unfamiliar with the brand might just get their first taste of “Smoothies With a Purpose” while watching from home.

As the National Basketball Association’s official website pointed out, this match has people more excited than usual thanks to the teams involved.

“These teams have never met in the NBA playoffs,” NBA.com states. “In fact, they've rarely both qualified for the postseason in the same year since New Orleans joined the Western Conference in 2004-05. This is the Pelicans' sixth trip to the playoffs in franchise history, including twice qualifying for the Eastern Conference field, in 2002-03 and 2003-04. It's the Warriors third straight playoff appearance.”
