Sunny Street Café, the breakfast and lunch franchise with 22 units, has announced the promotion of Mike Stasko Jr. to president of the emerging franchise brand, Restaurant Business points out as part of this week’s roundup of the latest executive moves in the restaurant industry.

Since joining the team in 2007 and working across operations, marketing, and franchising, Stasko is gearing up to navigate the brand through its next growth chapter. This advancement comes as Sunny Street Café celebrates a remarkable surge in sales, nearly reaching double figures in percentage terms in 2023.

“Mike has done a tremendous job at creating the vision for the business and achieving success as proven by our sales growth,” said Scott Moffitt, CEO of Sunny Street Café. “There is no one better to continue to drive our success forward than Mike.”

With plans to broaden its presence throughout the United States, the brand unveiled a franchise incentive program in 2023. This initiative lowers the initial franchise fee to $17,500 and starts franchisees with 0% royalties, which then incrementally increase over 18 months. The aim is to make franchise ownership more accessible and financially manageable in the early phases.

The appeal of Sunny Street Café is further boosted by its innovative menu selections, particularly its distinctive fancy pancakes. Seasonal flavors like Pumpkin Pancakes and the festive “It’s Your Birthday!” pancakes have not only garnered a dedicated following but have also played a significant role in bolstering the franchise's overall sales.
