The Arizona Republic: Healthy-food franchises expanding in metro Phoenix
Smoothie King, the nation’s leading smoothie franchise, expands in Phoenix.
The New Orleans based smoothie franchise, Smoothie King, is gearing up to expand throughout the Phoenix market. Steve Shields, the company's franchise development manager, mentioned that the brand plans to open another two locations this year and four more in 2016.
"The demographics are right for the product we have," Shields told the Arizona Republic.
Smoothie King is known for its healthy, made-to-order smoothies, which can be divided into four categories: meal replacements, high-protein alternatives, vegan items and slimming-down items.
New Smoothie King franchisee Denisse Eddings said that she became interested in opening a Smoothie King after trying the brand’s product at a Houston store.
She is planning to open three locations in the Mesa/Gilbert area in the next few years, including one this year.
