Colorado's bustling beer scene is adding another craft option to its portfolio with the upcoming opening of The Brass Tap* in Colorado Springs. The Florida-based franchise concept has 36 open locations and aims to have as many as 50 in the works before the end of the year.

"Craft beer is alive and doing well and growing in Colorado," Peter Petrosian, chief development officer of The Brass Tap, told The Gazette. "It's a great place for us to plant the first flag."

Aside from the 60 craft beers offered on tap, the bar will also offer an extensive food menu with options ranging from pizza to prime rib sandwiches. The Brass Tap focuses on locally produced beer to fuel the local economy.

"We want to give back to the community," franchise owner Mike Warmouth said to The Gazette. "We want to reward the people here that make good beer by selling that beer and making it known to others that may not have yet tried it."

The bar and restaurant will cater to sports fans and music lovers alike, with 23 TVs strategically placed throughout the 3,000 square foot space and offering live music Saturday and Sunday.
