The Growth Coach, the 65-unit coaching franchise, is making a name for itself by helping smaller businesses grow and encouraging budding entrepreneurs to take their very first step into business ownership.

Shirrod and Shanita Le’Det are the owners and operators of The Growth Coach franchise in Lexington, Kentucky. The pair recently sat down with Lexington CBS affiliate WKYT, where they briefly discussed the path to business ownership. But before you go down that route, Shirrod says there are a few key things you need to identify before you can start your own business or open a franchise.

Shirrod says the first things you should identify before you start a business are “the vision, the passion, and the purpose.” He also believes you should ask yourself, “what is the business for and why do you want to do it?” Once you’ve taken a step back and fully understand your vision, then you can create a plan that will help you reach your goals.

“People don’t open businesses because they want a job – they open businesses because they have a vision. We help people get back to that vision and move forward,” Shirrod said.
