Last night’s Super Bowl ads really stuck in some people’s teeth. According to Bloomberg, Bud Light’s spots highlighted that, unlike competitors Miller Light and Coors Light, the beer is “brewed with no corn syrup,” leading many to defend the kerneled food’s honor.

The article reports the National Corn Growers Association tweeted at Bud Light, “America’s corn farmers are disappointed in you. Our office is right down the road! We would love to discuss with you the many benefits of corn! Thanks @MillerLight and @CoorsLite for supporting our industry.” The gloves were off, folks.

Bud Light’s parent company, Anheuser-Busch, doubled back in solidarity with corn growers, assuring that it will continue to invest in the industry, according to Bloomberg. “Bud Light’s Super Bowl commercials are only meant to point out a key difference in Bud Light from some other light beers,” it said in a statement quoted in the article.
