Top Franchise Legal Players: Jonathan Barber of Franchise.Law
Barber, a North Carolina-based managing attorney, works for one of the leading franchise law firms in the country.
Jonathan Barber has represented franchise professionals in a legal setting for his entire professional career. His experience includes prioritizing innovative entrepreneurship and pursuing a deep-rooted understanding for successful franchising practice.
Barber graduated from the Liberty University College of Law in 2015 and went on to practice as a franchise attorney for North Carolina-based Shelton & Power, LLC. He has since taken on duties as a managing attorney for Franchise.Law (also in North Carolina), a firm representing more than 100 franchises both domestically and internationally.
“I think I bring a fresh perspective to a lot of age-old franchising terms,” Barber said. “Franchising is cool, because for the most part, everyone is growing.”
He touched on his history as a legal professional and how he continually gravitates to the franchising industry because of the passion shared throughout the industry. “I like the exciting growth [and] the entrepreneurial mindset of my clients,” he said.
Barber shared his experiences working with a wide range of franchisees and business owners. “As a franchise attorney, you can almost instantly recognize what their motives are. If they are there because they actually want to get other people to experience business ownership, that’s really cool,” he said.
