There is a lot that goes into opening a franchise, and a franchisee has to juggle many different tasks and responsibilities. So, how do you make the leap from one unit to several without the house of cards crashing down?
 
In their June issue, Entrepreneur took a look at how some successful multi-unit franchisees charted a path to find success with multiple locations. One of the important keys is to keep your units within a manageable geographic distance. Brooke Wilson is a successful multi-unit franchisee with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, and after finding success in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., decided to buy a location in Atlanta.
 
"After that, we realized we couldn't just grow organically like that," Wilson told Entrepreneur. "We needed a strategy."
 
Wilson strategically began clustering locations along I-95 to maximize the efficiency of her moving trucks, and soon saw success. Wilson currently owns seven locations between Washington D.C. and Atlanta.
