The "two men" of rapidly growing moving franchise, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, started out as high school brothers looking to make a little extra spending money in the early 80's. When the brothers went to college, their mother kept the company going and today the Michigan-based brand has grown to 330 locations across the globe.

Recently, MSNBC's Erica Hill spoke with the mother and one of the brothers - TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Founder Mary Ellen Sheets and TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Executive Chairman Brig Sorber - as part of the "Born in the U$A" series, to discuss the history of the company.

"I had no idea how big this would become," Sheets told MSNBC. "I was a single mom with some teenage kids and the boys were moving people in a pickup truck. They did such a good job. It just kept getting bigger and bigger. I franchised it and drew the logo, which a lady said to me, 'You are so smart to have a child draw your logo," but it was me," Sheets laughed.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is still a private, family-held company to this day, but has grown and thrived through a solid foundation of franchise owners across the country.

"We do have very, very good franchisees who are really like family to us," Sorber told MSNBC. "So whenever we do anything new or have any ideas, we bring them in and we work together. We have very talented people at our corporate office, and we just really want to continue to grow - not jobs, but really careers. We've been able to hang on to a lot of young talent through the years and work them up, not only through our corporate office, but through our franchises as well. So, we're still very, very family-oriented."
