TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchisee Drew Worthington knows what it’s like to work your way up.

He started with the brand as a mover in February of 2007 while attending college at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Worthington worked after classes and on weekends – except during game days – to help pay for school.

Worthington’s dedication did not go unnoticed by Mike Verzino and Sean Wise, franchisees of the Tuscaloosa location. When the two decided to open another location in Panama City, Worthington was offered the operations manager role shortly after he graduated in 2010. That role was previously occupied by one of his current business partners, Joseph South, who had also worked his way up within the system, deciding to become a franchisee in Baton Rouge.

Worthington held the operations manager title for three years, but soon was able to add another title behind his name as he continued to climb up the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK ranks. Verzino and Wise wanted to open a location in Corpus Christi, Texas, and preferred to have one of the franchise partners in the physical office. They made Worthington a co-franchisee of the location, and he relocated to Corpus Christi to join the franchise agreement alongside Verzino, Wise and South.

In just seven years, Worthington went from moving boxes and furniture to co-owning a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK location. He is the perfect example of how the brand commonly grooms employees from within, and how those who work hard in the system can grow as much as they aspire to.

“I’ve always just worked hard, and fortunately I’ve been rewarded for it,” said Worthington. “Once you learn the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK brand, you really can move up in the system. I’m a good example of that, but I am not the only one.”

Things started slowly for Worthington in Corpus Christi, as he was new to the area and was not all that familiar with the market. However, he knew the brand on paper and knew that hard work payed off from experience. This situation was no different.

Through dedication and community engagement, the Corpus Christi location has built a nice foundation of success in three short years.

In 2017, Worthington’s TWO MEN AND A TRUCK location in Corpus Christi made almost $1 Million dollars in revenue.

“I would say that taking pride in our work and caring for our customers has been the biggest reason for our success,” said Worthington. “If we ever get a bad review, we ask what we can do better for next time. Our number one source of new clients is referrals from previous clients, so we take care of them so they’ll take care of us. That along with engaging in the community has been the key to our success.”

One way that Worthington has gotten involved in the community and embodied what the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK brand stands for is with the Women's Shelter of South Texas.

If a woman is a member of the shelter, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK will move them out of a hostile, domestic situation at no cost. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK also does pick-ups and deliveries for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program around the holidays.

“Getting involved in our community is definitely a priority,” said Worthington. “The more involved we are, the more our name gets out there, and TWO MEN AND A TRUCK prides itself on spreading awareness of issues through our platform.”

As Worthington’s TWO MEN AND A TRUCK location in Corpus Christi approaches $1 Million dollars in revenue for the year – a growth number of nearly 29 percent from 2016 – he reflects about just how much he’s grown with the brand.

“In three short years, we’re really rocking and rolling with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK in Corpus Christi,” said Worthington. “This brand allows for so much growth. If you put in the work, you will be rewarded with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. The possibilities are really endless.”
