Uber Eats Becomes One With Uber App In Effort to Fix Delivery Dilemmas

While many see the convenience of food delivery apps, others struggle to see past the ongoing issues that third-party delivery systems present to customers. Enter Uber.

Uber Eats and Uber have remained as two separate app identities––until now. According to The Takeout, Uber Eats will now be part of the Uber app in an attempt to fix “all the issues people have with delivery apps.” Now when users open the Uber app, they’ll soon be asked if they’re in need of a ride or if they want to order a bite.

It’s no secret that app-based food delivery is becoming a more popular habit of dining for foodies, but many users have problems with various delivery apps, from drivers eating customers’ food to tipping policies. If you don’t believe that some delivery drivers are now sampling customers’ food, here’s the proof in the pudding:

Uber’s new combined app has many technologies that strive to improve the overall customer experience, according to The Takeout. One new aspect that Uber will be adding to its app is offering customers an allergy-friendly filter, which allows customers with dietary needs to request special meal preparations. The brand is also making customers request straws and utensils in an effort to reduce our plastic footprint.

Uber is proving that it is willing to do anything to please its customers.
