Franchising is not limited to a few specified industries. Practically all forms of business are open to franchising in some form or another.

The 1851 Franchise Power Rankings feature restaurants, beauty salons and education centers for the bulk of the current top 10 standings, a wide range in itself. Restaurants are arguably the most identifiable franchise names across the world, but a handful of other industries are taking advantage of what a reputable franchise name can do for their operation.

The advantages of franchising are similar across nearly all forms of business, including assistance with advertising and proven methods to develop and retain consumer loyalty.

As consumers continue to develop changing lifestyles, the franchising industry is adapting to meet the needs of its client base in limitless forms. Some of 1851’s trending brands in the past month include Fitness Premier, a 24/7 workout brand, and TruBlue Total House Care, a brand committed to in-home assistance. The pandemic caused a higher demand for in-home care and an adaptive gym experience, and this changing consumer preference has already created a shift in the franchising industry (as noted by the success of these brands).

In late 2019, 1851 revealed a top 10 list for experimental franchises, showcasing just how wide the franchising industry runs. Featured companies include Stumpy’s Hatchet House, where patrons participate in axe-throwing, and PanIQ Room, an escape-room concept. All brands on the list were able to develop a reliable business model, one that was able to convince franchisees into investment despite the business concepts being relatively new.

As the consumer landscape continues to shape itself on the COVID-19 rebound, more experimental brands are bound to come to the franchising forefront. The world of franchising is growing to meet the needs of consumers, which means that a growing number of business types are trying their hands at the proven methods of franchising.
