Specialty sandwich shop Which Wich is set to open in Emporia, Kansas, in November. The location will be owned and operated by Leiszler Oil, a Kansas-based company that also runs Short Stop convenience stores across the state.

"We just think it’s a tremendous concept. Definitely the best sandwich out there, and we just thought it made good sense to bring it to Emporia," said Alison Leiszler Bridges, co-owner of the new franchise.

Bridges believes that this Which Wich location, located at the Short Stop on Industrial Road across from Wal-Mart, will attract customers in Emporia. It will feature a drive-thru and offer catering to customers. Most importantly, it will appeal to those who want their sandwiches their way.

"It's a totally customizable sandwich. You can get anything from a sliced egg on your sandwich to your standard peanut butter and jelly," said Bridges.

Founded in 2003 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Which Wich currently has over 350 locations world-wide. Leiszler Oil signed a multi-store development agreement with the company in 2013, according to Connie Alires, director of Franchise Development. The first location owned by Leiszler Oil, opened Fall 2014 and is located in Manhattan, Kan.

"The sub sandwich category is the most heavily saturated category within quick service restaurants today," said Alires. She noted that they needed to provided a better experience than other sandwich restaurants, and with Which Wich, "You can get your 'wich your way. You pick it as the guest. You can take as much time as you like."
