Restaurant Business: Buffalo Wings & Rings Releases New Design Prototype
The wing franchise debuts a new restaurant model featuring self-service technology in response to pandemic as well as post-COVID-19 design elements.
According to a recent Restaurant Business article, Buffalo Wings & Rings is shifting closer to a fast-casual model with a new dining room design and new name, Wings & Rings. The sports restaurant franchise recently previewed their new prototype inspired by the industry’s response to the pandemic and adjustments customers are expecting to see post-COVID-19.
Dedicated to providing customers with convenience, the brand is currently working on a technology that will allow customers to call servers and pay their bill directly from their table. The franchise’s ‘valet service’ (curbside pickup) will accommodate takeout orders allowing customers to be served by staff members from the comfort of their own cars.
Additionally, the new restaurant design features a “hangout zone” where customers can place their own food and drink orders from a self-serve ordering station while watching TV, sitting by the firepit, or playing foosball in a post-pandemic environment when it is safe to do so.
“The new restaurant design has been optimized with the dine-in customer in mind, but Buffalo Wings & Rings has amped up services for those picking up or ordering out as well,” Buffalo Wings & Rings’ Vice President of Marketing and Brand Strategy Diane Matheson told Restaurant Business. “Especially with COVID-19, people are itching to gather with friends and family. After this is all over we’re excited to have the space for people to connect together through our brand.”
The prototype is set to launch in September at the brand’s Milford, Ohio location. In addition, Buffalo Wings & Rings plans to introduce an updated menu including new wing varieties and sandwich offerings.
