Young Ones to Watch: Tom DuFore, CEO of Big Sky Franchise Team
As someone with the unique distinction of having held roles in all areas of the “Franchise Trifecta” — franchisee, franchisor and franchise supplier — DuFore knows what it takes to thrive in the franchising industry.
Tom DuFore is the CEO of Big Sky Franchise Team, a franchise consultancy firm that helps entrepreneurs grow and expand through franchising. DuFore has been in the franchising industry for his entire career — prior to starting Big Sky Franchise Team, DuFore spent decades as a franchise consultant, a franchisee and a franchisor. Today, DuFore has led Big Sky Franchise Team to be an award-winning and nationally recognized company and also hosts a franchise-focused podcast called “Multiply Your Success with Tom DuFore.”
When it comes to his expert advice for those young up-and-comers making their way in the constantly evolving franchise world, DuFore says it is all about staying the course.
“Through my own experience and through talking to others, I have found that once you are bitten by the franchise bug, it is very hard to leave the industry,” said DuFore. “People quickly fall in love with the world and the community. If you are in the franchising industry and you don’t feel that passion, it may not be the right industry for you. Overall, my experience has shown me that people are either all in or aren’t in at all. If you are all in, stay the course and think how you can improve the community for today and tomorrow as the franchising industry continues to change.”
