What happens when OrangeTheory’s biggest franchisee sells all of his locations? Well, if you’re James Webb, you look for what’s next. 

Franchise Times recently reported that Webb signed on to bring 19 new BeBalanced locations to Texas. Prior to BeBalanced, a franchise specializing in a non-medical, holistic approach to solving stubborn weight gain, Webb owned and operated 31 OrangeTheory Fitness centers — the highest number in its system. And when he sold them all in December of 2019, just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Webb thought it was nothing short of a miracle. 

“It’s one of those great miracles in life,” Webb told Franchise Times. “People call me smart, but that was frickin’ luck.”

Now, Webb is looking to the future with BeBalanced. After 18 months of searching for a new business opportunity, Webb finally found what he was looking for. “We put three people through the program without anybody knowing it,” Webb said. “[BeBalanced] resonated in both of the spaces we liked — the health and wellness space — and it reminded us of the OTF brand, we like that kind of strategy.”
