Durham Business Owner Celebrates $1M in Sales in Second Year, Earns National Award

After launching in 2019, Rob Ricco was awarded as the 2021 Franchisee of the Year by the national brand.

Rob Ricco is celebrating success on two fronts these days. He recently crossed the $1M sales mark in just his second year of business with Footprints Floors, the 150-plus-unit flooring franchise. Plus, Ricco was awarded the Footprints Floors Franchisee of the Year award at the brand’s national conference in Denver recently, edging out over 100+ other franchisees across the country.

Ricco’s experience restoring floors began when he helped his dad manage a flooring business for 15 years. After he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, he worked as a supervisor for Con Edison. After 13 years, Ricco was ready for a new job opportunity—one that involved him being his own boss. Because of his background in the flooring industry helping his dad run a flooring business, Ricco thought Footprints Floors was a great match for his expertise.

“Coming from my background in management and flooring, customer service has been key to my success,” said Ricco. “I know the importance of effective and positive customer service, and I was impressed with the tremendous emphasis that Footprints Floors placed on customer service and satisfaction. I was hugely honored by the recognition at our national conference and am looking forward to continuing growing the brand in North Carolina.”
