Manny Leclerq and Brian Bogert of The Social Order restaurant group brought the first of seven Fuzzy’s Taco Shops to Oklahoma in 2010 at Norman and Campus Corner. "Fuzzy's is a national brand, but it's a locally owned business, so with every restaurant that we do -- whether it's an original concept or a national brand -- we try to make it local and be a part of the community," said Leclerq as reported by The Norman Transcript.
The local Fuzzy’s certainly feels like a piece of the community, garnering company-wide highest single-day sales on Sooner football game days.
Fuzzy’s Company President Mel Knight attributes the brand’s success in Oklahoma to a great product and great leadership on behalf of Leclerq and Bogert. “The reason it's become so successful in Oklahoma is those guys are tremendous operators and exploited every piece of those core values," said Knight.
"I think the brand is built on really good food, great healthy portions, made from scratch at a value," Knight continued. "You throw in a cold beer and a margarita, a relaxed atmosphere, and one of the prerequisite for employees is you've got to smile and have fun."
Leclerq has plans to expand the brand in Midwest City and Yukon, aspiring to eventually open in Tulsa.
