The brand has a history of success in college towns similar to that of Iowa City.
With over 100 restaurant locations worldwide, MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes is looking to expand into Iowa. The brand is connecting with potential franchisees and realtors in Iowa City with the hope of adding a location in the area in the next 12 months.
"We're really finding success when there is a large university in the area," said Ardag Tachian, MOOYAH's VP of Development. "When we're able to reach a well-educated and health-conscious population, over the last five to 10 years, we've had great success."
The Plano-based brand was founded in 2007, and serves up grilled favorites like made-to-order beef burgers, black bean burgers, turkey burgers and chicken sandwiches. The restaurant also specializes in milkshakes and hand-cut french fries.
MOOYAH has grown from a Dallas-area business to an international chain over the past 10 years and has traditionally done well in college towns similar to that of Iowa City including the University of Kentucky, University of Connecticut and University of Wisconsin.
