Terry Hiduke’s Sylvan Learning Centers have been a staple tor the Fort Myers, Florida area since his first location opened in 1988. In an interview with Franchise Times, Hiduke spoke about his Florida centers, which have seen an increase in students as they seek to recover after pandemic-related learning loss.

“Some kids struggle, and we’re there to help them get back on track and get back into school,” said Hiduke.

Franchise Times also spoke with Sylvan CEO John McAuliffe, who sang Hiduke’s praises and offered insight into what Sylvan Learning seeks to accomplish in the aftermath of the pandemic. “After all these years with Sylvan, he’s expanding because he sees the need that is out there in the community,” McAuliffe said of Hiduke.

McAuliffe sees potential for growth across North America, especially after Franchise Group Inc. purchased Sylvan Learning in 2021. According to McAuliffe, the Franchise Group has brought  “a great degree of experience in franchise development, which should help grow our system.”
