Global bakery café brand Paris Baguette has been growing rapidly through France, and brand executives are planning to leverage that growth to support new franchise opportunities in the French Canadian city  of Montreal.

Paris Baguette Canada Chief Executive Officer Jack Moran says as the brand grows in Europe and becomes popular among Parisian consumers, those customers will share their experiences with friends living in Montreal and the Quebec province.

“The stories we hear about how people found Paris Baguette are incredible,” said Moran. “Some people discovered it while traveling abroad, some have connections to it from childhood and others stumbled upon one of our bakery cafés while out shopping.”

Moran says when people see “Paris” in the name, they immediately think of delicious patisserie and sweets due to the city’s reputation for world-class bakery items.

The franchise is counting on Paris Baguette customers in France to reach out to their French Canadian friends in Montreal and beyond to share the word about the neighborhood bakery café concept.

“If we head over the Atlantic to Quebec, it’s a large Canadian province with ties to France,” said Moran. “In a French-speaking region such as Quebec and a large city like Montreal, there’s unlimited potential for a bakery café like Paris Baguette.”

Montreal’s standing as a destination city in the global tourism industry means it sees visitors from all over the world, many of whom have likely tried Paris Baguette at one time or another and will be drawn to a brand they already know. “I’m excited to introduce our array of baked goods, sandwiches and coffees in a cozy, welcoming setting to the people of this province,” Moran said.

Paris Baguette Canada is also working to attract potential franchisees through the nearby Le Cordon Bleu academy in Quebec. Moran says if the opportunity is marketed correctly, the brand will be able to attract quality pastry chefs from the school to sign on with Paris Baguette Canada and share its pastries with the region.

Currently, Paris Baguette Canada is working with potential franchisee candidates in the province to help the brand get its footing and raise awareness about its unique bakery café concept that aims to inspire joy in all those who walk through its doors.

Paris Baguette Canada hopes to open its first location in Montreal in late 2023. The brand’s flagship store opens in Toronto in 2022, and it hopes to have 100 locations in Canada by 2030.
