Verdict Food Service: Paris Baguette Forays into Canadian Restaurant Space
Paris Baguette’s March opening in Toronto is the first step of its aggressive expansion plan.
Paris Baguette, the global bakery café brand with over 4,000 units around the world, entered the Canadian bakery café market in March of this year with its first opening in Toronto. As it works to open a total of seven locations in Canada this year, part of a larger effort to pass the 1,000-unit mark in North America by 2030, the Yonge Sheppard Centre opening will serve as a key driver.
The opening embraces the brand’s new 3.0 prototype, which spotlights rich interior design and a welcoming layout within its 2,300 square-foot space and is equipped to accommodate up to 20 guests at a time.
“We can’t wait to celebrate moments of joy with our guests as we establish our neighbourhood bakery cafés in Toronto and bring our vision to life throughout Canada,” said Darren Tipton, CEO, Paris Baguette North America.
At the start, the franchisor is focusing on openings in the Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, Alberta and Vancouver areas. The growth is supported by strong brand awareness and a strategic corporate approach that is welcoming both corporately owned and franchised locations to the country.
