TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, the national, full-service franchised moving company with more than 405 locations, has worked hard these last few months giving back through its annual Movers for Moms® campaign.

Each spring, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK locations nationwide collect donations to deliver to women staying in domestic abuse or homeless shelters. By partnering with local businesses, schools and other organizations, franchises collect essential care items, such as soap and shampoo. Once all donations are collected, move teams pick up and deliver the items on or around Mother’s Day.

“One of our core values is giving back to the community, and that really started with our founder Mary Ellen Sheets, who was a single mom,” said Randy Shacka, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK President. “We exist to help make our communities better. This is our 16th year of Movers for Moms and it was a great opportunity for us to partner with local businesses and work to collect as much as we can to give back to women during Mother’s Day.”

This year, the company collected 443,861 total donations, far exceeding its goal of 300,000 and further surpassing 2022’s total of 266,000. The brand supported hundreds of shelters across the United States and collected donations through an amazing 1,277 community collection sites. The top three franchises with the most donations for 2023 were Sioux Falls, South Dakota (70,044); Gulf Coast, Mississippi (30,000); and Jacksonville, Florida (29,012).

“Time and time again, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK supports all of these things that I get to do to make this community so great — I could gush for 10,000 hours about that,” said Angela Drake, General Manager of the Sioux Falls, South Dakota, location. “I’m really proud of the work my team did this year, it wouldn't be possible without them. Movers for Moms, as big as it was this year, is just a small part of what TWO MEN AND A TRUCK does for this community.”

Movers for Moms kicked off in 2007 with the brand’s Michigan-based locations before expanding nationally in 2014. Each franchise teams up with a local shelter in their communities that they support throughout the campaign.

“It’s incredible to be able to see the difference not only here in Michigan, but the effect that it has nationwide,” said Morgan Nelson, Director of Marketing and Recruiting for the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Empire Franchise Group. “West Michigan as a whole collected more than 40,000 items in 2023. This is my fifth year running the campaign, and being able to see the growth year after year is amazing.”

Movers for Moms is just one of several cause marketing campaigns that TWO MEN AND A TRUCK participates in every year. During the fall of 2022, the brand collected and donated a total of 43,071 items through campaigns such as Movers for Mutts® (16,647 items), Movers for Meals® (12,794 items), Movers for Military® (11,770 items) and Truckload of Warmth® (1,860 items).

Shacka noted that campaigns like Movers for Moms are a testament to the thousands of hardworking people within the organization and the way they build relationships with people and organizations within their communities around the country to give back.

“I've been part of the brand for 22 years, and one of the most fulfilling parts of being here is to see the impact we can have by helping people, even if it's one little thing we can do to help give somebody a better day,” said Shacka. “That's truly our purpose in moving people forward. It's not just customers moving every day, it’s about anyone living in our communities that we can help.”
