Dog Training Elite, the dog training franchise with over 320 territories that supports owners in creating a strong, reliable bond with their pets, is ending Q3 on a high note and continuing to grow at an impressive rate. With their sights set on new territories and new training techniques added to their service offerings, Dog Training Elite is strategic in making sure they have the right people and are delivering the right message to make this growth successful. “We want to continue building brand awareness for ourselves as a different type of dog trainer with an elevated method, an elite method,” explained Betsy Feaster, Dog Training Elite CEO.

With service dogs becoming more popular than ever before, Dog Training Elite is situated in a growing industry with the opportunity to make a positive impact on people who rely on service dogs for emotional or medical support. While some people refer to service dogs as medical equipment, Dog Training Elite says they’re even better. “Medical equipment hasn't caught up to dogs. Dogs are way more accurate than medical equipment,” said Kelley Rosequist, Dog Training Elite development advisor.

With openings in New Mexico; Wilmington, North Carolina; and Michiana — a region in northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan centered on the city of South Bend, Indiana — and sales in northern New Jersey and North Carolina, the brand successfully wrapped up Q3 and looks forward to continued growth in Q4.

Dog Training Elite Introduces New Territories and Training Tools

As the brand heads into Q4, it is aiming to develop one state in particular: California. “Our goal is to sign four to six more franchisees in Q4, expanding by 12-18 territories. We’ve got the pipeline to do it, and we're really focused on getting the right people in here to help us grow our brand,” explained Feaster.

This goal became possible after Dog Training Elite recently obtained state approval to operate and award franchises in California, and the brand has already seen a strong demand in the state. It is no wonder that they captured the attention of Entrepreneur earlier this year, securing the No. 12 spot on its Fastest Growing Franchises ranking.

Franchisees with Dog Training Elite can operate a minimum of three units, as the brand has found that people tend to be most successful with this model.

As they expand into new locations, they are also expanding their offerings to customers with new training tools. “We're focused on balanced training,” said Feaster. “We're e-collar trainers, that's our foundation. But the program we are developing will allow owners to learn a wide range of other dog training tools, such as treat training methods.”

All dogs are different, and because of that, Dog Training Elite offers a customizable approach to dog training, so dog owners can be sure to find the right fit. While e-collars are where the brand started, the range of tools and methods taught means that in areas where e-collars are not allowed, Dog Training Elite franchisees can still offer successful dog training methods to customers.

“Our trainers strive to offer a truly balanced approach to training, not only balanced with positive and corrective behavior training, but also other tools that allow more customization to the dog,” explained Feaster. “We will do some free training for puppies, as well, but adult dogs tend to need more specialized training.”

How the Dog Training Elite Franchise Stands Out in Local Communities

Service dog training has become increasingly popular and provides an excellent source of income for Dog Training Elite owners. It is also one of the major links between Dog Training Elite and the community around it.

“There has been a big push towards providing more therapy dogs for our communities to help people that don't have access to a service dog that can provide them with really effective therapeutic assistance,” said Rosequist.

Service dogs have become more and more prevalent, and Dog Training Elite has been working hard to raise awareness of their capabilities while providing access to training at an affordable price. For example, November is American Diabetes month, and Dog Training Elite offers training for diabetic alert service dogs. These dogs have a particularly positive impact on the children in their community, as children are not as attune to their bodies as adults, and so service dogs can alert them to high and low blood sugars.

A diabetic service dog is particularly helpful for young children at night time when they may be asleep and away from their parents: “When we're working with training Diabetic Alert dogs for kids, we train the dogs to recognize the scent of high and low blood sugars, but then they are also trained to notify the parents so they can provide the care their child needs,” explained Rosequist. “Kids don't really understand what their bodies are telling them yet and dogs are way more accurate than medical equipment. This is a great resource Dog Training Elite can offer families.”

October is Down Syndrome Awareness month and Dog Training Elite also trains service animals for people with Down Syndrome, as well. Also in October, the brand is gearing up for the holidays by providing information and educational resources about keeping dogs safe around the holidays, including advice on which holiday foods dogs can and can’t safely eat, along with which holiday plants are unsafe for pets.

In addition to service dog training, Dog Training Elite provides other community opportunities, such as its upcoming Veterans Day initiative, where the brand will welcome members from the VFW and do therapy dog work with them.

Increasing Access

Dog Training Elite is on track to continue its impressive growth across the nation, increasing the success of its existing franchisees, while offering opportunities for new franchise owners in new territories. Through all of its locations, Dog Training Elite continues to provide accessible, affordable dog training to strengthen the relationships between pets and their owners.
