Emerging fitness franchisor Fit For You Franchising continued to grow in the early months of 2022, signing two new franchise agreements for units in Illinois and Georgia. Now, the company behind increasingly popular sister concepts Fitness Premier 24/7 and fitWAVE is preparing for even more growth throughout the rest of 2022, aiming to sign an additional four agreements before the end of the year.

“We are growing quickly but strategically,” said Jason Markowicz, CEO of Fitness Premier 24/7 and founder of fitWAVE, “We have a wealth of white space available to us and increasing consumer demand, but we are looking to partner only with those fitness-oriented entrepreneurs who see the true value of our franchise opportunity and are prepared to execute on our playbook.”

Fitness Premier 24/7 is a gym concept that is designed specifically to bring group fitness classes to smaller markets that traditional gym brands have long ignored. The complementary fitWAVE brand is a group-workout concept designed for a flexible footprint that can fit within virtually any retail space.

At the end of Q1, four Fitness Premier 24/7 locations celebrated their one-year anniversaries. Each of the clubs —three owned by franchisee Eric Greenhill and one by Emily Janssen — have seen enrollment numbers increase as communities embrace the innovative fitness concepts.

“The communities took us in, and to our pleasant surprise, people wanted to work out even with COVID going on,” Greenhill said. “And since restrictions have lifted people are super eager to get out and get back into gyms. Classes are full. Personal training has never been better. People want to get back, and they did get back.”

Another of Greenhill’s locations is approaching its one-year anniversary in Q3, and the multi-unit owner says he plans to continue growing with the brand.

“I’m starting to look for opportunities to convert existing gyms to our model in other states,” he said. “We’ve got the systems down and we have the confidence within the management team to expand out of state.”

One of Fitness Premier 24/7’s new signings will introduce the brand to Georgia, thanks to military veterans and first-time franchise owners Kyle and Maria Retter, who aim to open their Savannah location in the upcoming months.

fitWAVE, which was created by Markowicz in 2020 to provide a new pathway into business ownership for fitness professionals, has further proven its viability in Q1, earning new members and rave reviews.

“fitWAVE has been an enormous hit at its initial launch locations,” Markowicz said. “We were careful to roll it out slowly and see what kind of feedback we got, and it’s been phenomenal across the board. A big part of our mission for the rest of the year is introducing the business to Fitness Premier owners and rolling it out as part of our team training program.”

Fitness Premier 24/7 currently has 16 locations open. By the end of 2022, Markowicz says he hopes to have at least half of them offering fitWAVE classes.

“The early part of 2022 was extremely validating for us,” Markowicz said. “We saw confirmation from both franchise owners and customers that our centers and programs are effective and experiencing increasing demand. Now, we are prepared to meet that demand and establish new Fitness Premier and fitWAVE locations in markets across the country.”
