Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs, the 18-unit fitness club concept, has identified its home state as a target market for growth in 2023. With multiple successful franchisees already established in the state, brand awareness is strong, and Fitness Premier is excited to add locations that will serve even more communities.

“We saw incredible growth in 2022, and we’re excited to carry those changes into this year,” said Jason Markowicz, CEO of Fit For You Franchising. “With investments in tools to support franchisees and plans to expand member offerings, we continue to differentiate ourselves as a franchisor. Now, as we look toward 2023 growth, we’re honing in on our home state of Illinois.”

With franchisees scattered throughout the state in communities like Champaign, Mahomet and Monticello, Fitness Premier has proven success in the types of markets it is targeting and has established a well-connected network of franchisees in the state.

As it grows, the brand is looking in bedroom communities around Bloomington, Peoria and LaSalle.

“We like to focus on underserved markets like Chillicothe, Illinois, for example,” Markowicz said. “These areas are full of families and individuals who have the interest and disposable income to support a gym membership, but the population isn’t quite large enough to attract big box gyms.”

This strategy is perfectly in line with the brand’s larger community-first approach. While the franchisor provides robust support for its local owners, it also recognizes that each community is unique and presents one-of-a-kind demands and challenges.

“We do it for the communities we serve,” explained Josh Hettiger, COO of Fit For You Franchising. “We’re not just a one size fits all model. We go into these communities expecting and wanting to be a staple in helping them thrive. Typically the communities that we go into are underserved, and we’re going in to give them a high quality of service and better access to fitness.”

This year, Fitness Premier is looking to add a total of 10 new clubs to its network, driving it forward as it works to add a total of 30 new clubs by 2026. While the brand has not defined a specific market capacity for the state, it notes that it establishes territories and chooses real estate carefully, working to ensure that clubs are relatively connected without positioning locations to cannibalize each other.

The total initial investment necessary to begin operation of a Fitness Premier Club Model is $279,849 to $575,499 per unit, and $92,850 to $200,000 per unit for a fitWave Model. This includes a $39,999 franchise fee.
