Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs, the 19-unit, full-service fitness franchise that works to bring a robust fitness experience to underserved communities, has revolutionized the gym experience with its new Relax + Restore Suites, which are currently being rolled out in locations across the country. The exclusive suites are equipped with saunas, massage chairs, cryotherapy and compression therapy amenities. Now members can recover faster and see quicker results by using the amenities before or after their workout, or make a trip to their local fitness club solely to access a luxury spa experience.

1851 Franchise spoke with Rick King, vice president of Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs, and Michael Orwig, a multi-unit franchisee, about the new exclusive suites to find out more about how the rollout is being received.

For Members: Recovery, Relaxation and Convenience

Relax + Restore Suites have been introduced into two of Orwig’s franchise locations in Bourbonnais and Manteno, Illinois. It may only be the beginning, but so far the response has been overwhelmingly positive, with a 30% year-over-year revenue increase proving the immense popularity of these new amenities.

What sets the Relax + Restore Suites apart is not just the variety of offerings but also the attention to detail. Orwig emphasized the brand’s efforts to maintain impeccable cleanliness and accessibility, ensuring that members can enjoy these amenities around the clock. This focus widens to include every aspect of the suite’s atmosphere, as well.

“We designed these areas to have a spa-like atmosphere with a unique experience,” King said. “It's darker in there; it's calm. On the other side of the wall, the fitness club is loud and bright and vibrant with a lot of activity and high energy. And then in our Relax + Restore Suites, it’s quiet, peaceful and relaxing. It’s two totally different experiences, and some people are attracted to both while others prefer only one of them.”

The Relax + Restore membership, priced affordably at $59 to $69 per month, offers members exclusive access to these rejuvenating amenities along with 24/7 facility access and group fitness classes.

For Franchisees: Diversified Revenue Streams and a Wider Audience

By diversifying revenue streams and catering to a broader audience, Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs has solidified its position as a trailblazer in the fitness industry. The seamless integration of relaxation and recovery amenities into the fitness club is attracting a diverse demographic to Fitness Premier's facilities, and, in turn, increasing revenue.

“I was part of the transition team bringing this to our clubs, and now all the other franchises in our network are jumping on board,” Orwig said. “Some franchisees were apprehensive at first with the upfront cost, but they're recouping their investment in three to six months, which is exceptional.”

The suites have been a big hit with members who are staying longer, feeling better and seeing quicker results with shorter recovery periods from these amenities.

“We are attracting a different demographic to our facilities now,” King said. “Some individuals weren’t interested in coming for the treadmills, equipment and classes. Some of our facilities have been around for almost 20 years and now we are appealing to a new group of people in that same community who want to come in and use the sauna, massage chairs, cryotherapy or percussion therapy equipment. For some, this is an avenue to work their way into fitness, and for others, it’s something they can work into their existing fitness routine.”

Looking ahead, the future of Relax + Restore is filled with possibilities. King envisions continued expansion and innovation, with plans to introduce new offerings such as cold plunge therapy.

“We're testing cold-plunge amenities in a couple of locations right now, so we are really adapting to the recovery trend and staying ahead of the curve as it becomes a bigger priority for members. Members will be able to go from the cold plunge to the sauna and alternate back and forth, which is very beneficial in recovery and with injuries. The water in the cold plunge is held just above freezing.”

By staying ahead of industry trends and continually evolving their offerings, Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs aims to help members improve their fitness and set the standard for holistic wellness across the country.
