Fitness Premier Targets Georgia for Expansion, Offering New Franchise Opportunities in Underserved Areas

Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs, the emerging full-service gym franchise with 19 units and counting, is eyeing Georgia as its next target market for expansion. The brand, which operates under the Fit For You franchise network, decided to expand operations into Georgia as a result of its newest and first-ever franchise location in the state.

Kyle Retter, an IT professional, is the latest Fitness Premier franchisee. Retter was introduced to Fitness Premier after he was hired by the brand to assess its IT and security needs. He quickly developed an affinity for the brand’s business model, which led him to sign on to open his own location in Blue Ridge, Georgia. While Retter is still working to open his first location, he already has goals to become a multi-unit franchisee and wants to open 10 units over the next 10 years. His determination has helped spark inspiration for Fitness Premier to open new locations across the state.

And according to Emily Janssen, the Director of Real Estate and Construction for Fitness Premier, the Georgia market is perfect for new franchise opportunities.

“Our business model works best when there’s more than one Fitness Premier location,” said Janssen. “Kyle found a really good market in Blue Ridge, so we’re actively looking to find new territories in the area that we can enter and turn into a network of gyms.”

Janssen also says Georgia is a perfect region for expansion because there are many underserved areas that would benefit from having a fitness program such as Fitness Premier. Looking forward, the brand is seeking territories around an hour outside of Blue Ridge. However, Janssen says the brand is primarily focused on finding the best territories for its franchisees because they want to be as supportive as they can be for their owners and operators.

“We’re always trying to help our franchisees find good real estate,” she said. “We want to make it an easy transition for them, and we want them to have a good location where they can find success.”

While Fitness Premier is searching the territories surrounding the Blue Ridge area, the brand is actively looking at regions throughout the state. According to Janssen, the brand is aiming to reach a total of 20 open locations by next year, with a particular focus on expanding into the South.

“We are focused on expanding into the South and really like Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee. Those markets are high on our priority list,” she said.

The brand is now working to identify the most ideal markets for expansion and is actively speaking with current gym owners in the area to explore any opportunities for potential mergers or acquisitions.
