How Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs Is Differentiating Itself, Staying Ahead of Industry Trends
The fitness franchise was built on a foundation of access and support, and that continues to shine through today, elevating it above competitors.
Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs, the 19-unit fitness franchise, was founded to bring something fresh to the industry. As it continues to provide a great member experience and strong franchisee support, Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs has also reached beyond some of the restraints of more popular industry trends to provide the fitness experience that its members deserve.
“We’re still a franchise brand, but we’re smaller and more in control. We can make adjustments and implement changes quickly,” explained Rick King, vice president at Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs. “Being ahead of the curve is in our culture. We attend industry events and are always looking forward. We haven’t seen anything like us in the industry.”
One of the most important differentiators for Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs is its focus on holistic fitness and wellness. Rather than focusing solely on aesthetic results or catering only to highly experienced athletes, the fitness franchise establishes gyms in smaller, often underserved, communities and offers a range of equipment and resources to address the needs of the masses.
Current Fitness Trends Have Been a Part of the Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs Model for Years
Both a focus on overarching wellness, including the importance of rest and recovery, and an emphasis on functional training have been on the rise in recent years. The pandemic played a major role in many Americans realizing how valuable health and fitness can be, which drove up demand in the industry, but with this as a motivator, there is a larger segment of the population focused on how fitness can serve them in their daily lives as opposed to those focused on aesthetic goals alone.
With this realization came an understanding that recovery is crucial to truly develop athletic skills. Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs has long encouraged its members to take care of themselves in a holistic manner and consider a more sustainable path. However, more recently, the franchise began to build out Relax and Restore suites in its local clubs, meaning members now have access to even more amenities in a single space.
“We’ve tested Relax and Restore at a few locations and have been monitoring the results,” said King. “It has proven to be very effective; the resources are well-used. We’ve created an environment now where it’s not just high-intensity exercise but you can also relax and recover. You can get rid of soreness or address inflammation. We’re seeing some good traffic and a clear desire for our members to utilize those resources — it’s a big focus right now.”
Proper recovery fuels meaningful athletic growth and a well-rounded relationship with fitness, and this often allows members to build a relationship with the gym that is focused on fitness for life.
“A lot of group training has no rhyme or reason for the programming,” explained King. “The workouts just focus on brutal activity for an hour, and it’s ultimately unproductive. fitWAVE doesn’t do that; we’re going where I feel the industry should’ve been going all along, and our members are getting better results.”
fitWAVE is a 16-week program that takes members through multiple “waves” of training, focusing on a range of skills including muscle group isolation, high-intensity training, explosive activities, functional training and recovery.
This is both more impactful in the context of gym attendance and helpful in supporting members in reaching their daily and lifestyle goals.
“There are long-term benefits to the measured nature of fitWAVE. We’re training for everyday life, not just for sport or to look good,” said King. “With these results, you can be carrying groceries with bags in each hand, slip on some ice and have the ability to maintain your balance and avoid a fall. You’re prepared for the unexpected circumstances that may arise in everyday life.”
A Bright Future for the Franchise
With its unique offerings in mind, King said Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs quickly made a strong recovery from pandemic-related shut-downs and continues to steadily grow. Trends are leaning more and more toward younger generations, and the team has taken steps to cater to demand while increasing access even further for any and all members who are ready to implement a fitness routine.
“The sooner you make movement a part of your life, the more likely you are to continue with it for years down the road,” said King. “A lot of our new member traffic is from younger people, and this is the first generation I’ve seen in about 20 years that thinks fitness is cool. It’s exciting to see that.”
As new, younger athletes sign up for membership, local Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs locations are able to build a larger roster of members who likely have strong longevity in the fitness space and with their local club, specifically.
Further decreasing barriers to activity, Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs continues to hone its in-club kiosks which streamline processes even during non-staffed hours.
“With these kiosks, people can come in and get a day pass, communicate with us or even sign up for a new membership and get access to all of the amenities through the app within five minutes,” explained King. “This technology is a continual work in progress, but our goal remains making the experience more interactive, engaging and accessible for anyone who wants to take the next step in their fitness journey.”
