HomeTeam Inspection Service, the 200-plus-unit home inspection concept, celebrated its 30th franchise anniversary and kicked off a strong year of business at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas on January 26-28. Its annual convention featured two guest speakers, Gino Blefari and Bob Burg, words from President Adam Long, franchisee awards and more.

“As we launch into the 2023 business year, we chose to focus the HomeTeam annual convention on the process of building and growing a business,” Long explained. “We want our franchise owners to understand that, like climbing a mountain, building a business is a process. It will take more than just small bursts of motivation.”

President Adam Long Reminded Owners of the Franchisor’s Commitment to the Network

In one of his speeches, Long touched heavily on the difference between motivation and consistency. Referencing a book he recently read, titled Into Thin Air, he also discussed the nature of business-building — slow and steady.

“While our convention weekend included a lot of motivation, we also wanted franchisees to take away the idea that consistency is just as important,” he explained. “All franchise owners in attendance had seen success for a sustained period of time, and it is important to recognize and celebrate the consistent efforts that led to these outcomes.”

The rewards of building a successful HomeTeam business are quite clear, as demonstrated by the countless business people who attended the convention. In addition to reaffirming its commitment to the owners, the franchisor worked to illustrate the long-term journey that accompanies business ownership.

“Like climbing Mt. Everest, building a business is a process,” Long said. “And it is likewise  laden with complicated logistics, uncertain schedules and measurable risks. But, just like climbing the tallest mountain in the world, the rewards of building a successful business are immeasurable.”

HomeTeam Celebrated Franchisees for Their Successes

Through this continued commitment, and franchisees’ willingness to remain committed to their vision rather than clinging to sometimes-fleeting spurts of motivation, many successful business owners are developed. At its 2023 convention, HomeTeam presented a range of awards to celebrate the successes of the network in 2022.

Numerous franchise owners were recognized for reaching or exceeding the 500 inspection mark in 2022. Additional franchisees exceeded 1,000 inspections, with some even surpassing the 1,500 and 2,000 marks. Rex Lewis of Anchorage, AKwas also celebrated for having the most inspections overall.

“This year, we added a new award to recognize the franchisee who completed the most inspections in a single year,” Long said. “The winner, Rex Lewis, is based in Anchorage. Not only did he conduct the most inspections of the system, but he did so, at times, in six feet of snow, negative-15-degree weather and on nights and weekends. One time, he even chartered a plane to fly to an inspection. He truly illustrates the value of commitment and consistency in a business.”

Other awards, including the HomeTeam Award, Highest Average Transaction Fee Award,  and awards that highlighted Relationships, Growth, Community, and Innovation were also announced.

The 2022 Franchisee of the Year, Brad Lawler of Louisville, KY, was also recognized for the way that he and his staff superbly represent the HomeTeam brand.

The Start of a Great Year

HomeTeam’s two guest speakers, Gino Blefari and Bob Burg, did a great job of reminding franchisees of the possibilities that lie ahead and the power of embracing the HomeTeam values.

Blefari, who is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices of America, served as a powerful reminder of the professional partnerships available to HomeTeam franchisees as they work to grow. With a unique background, he is also a wonderful reminder of what can be built with persistence and dedication.

Bob Burg, the author of The Go-Giver, emphasized the value of giving more than you expect back.

“One of our guiding principles at HomeTeam is a commitment to providing value,” Long said. “Bob Burg’s book touches on the power of giving, and his presence was a great reminder to the whole network that not expecting anything extravagant in return but still choosing to add as much value as possible can be a very strong approach.”

The initial investment range to open a HomeTeam Inspection franchise is $50,100 to $76,800. For more information, visit https://www.hometeamfranchise.com/.
