HomeTeam Inspection Service, the 200-plus-unit home inspection concept, is celebrating 30 years of franchising this month, and its continued growth is an apt reflection of the model's strength. Just this year, the concept established 10 new territories, and six more are preparing to open for business early next year. These newly established businesses also bring HomeTeam’s unit count to double that of its 2015 footprint, another remarkable milestone.

“The reason for this progress is that even though we’ve been franchising for 30 years, we began a refocus in 2015,” explained Adam Long, president of HomeTeam. “We were interested in strengthening and enlarging the company, and we focused intently on bringing new franchise owners into an even stronger model. Since then, we’ve had multiple franchise owners who have exceeded $1 million in revenue. In the last three years, we had a franchise owner set a new record for the most first-year inspections, which, compared to a 30-year history, is pretty impressive.”

A 30-year anniversary is exciting, and it shows just how equipped the HomeTeam leadership team is to provide top-notch support to its franchisees. There is excellent longevity within the executive team, with several of the company’s staff holding tenures of over 10 years, and the sheer knowledge among the group shows in its growth strategy.

“We’ve been careful in our growth because we want to make sure that we can support our existing franchisees adequately rather than overgrowing the franchise system,” Long added.

This careful growth has yielded other great successes for HomeTeam franchisees.

“25% of our inspections this year were from franchise territories that had transferred ownership,” explained Matt Cook, franchise development manager. “What that really means is that our franchisees have built a business. When they do go to sell their territory to a new owner, their business is so strong that a new franchisee is interested in filling those shoes.”

Cook explained that several top franchises in the network have grown substantially after a transfer of ownership. The Tampa, Florida territory grew by over 30%, the Anchorage, Alaska territory doubled its revenue since being sold to a new owner, and the Citrus & Hernando County, Florida territory grew by over 500%.

Franchisees’ ability to continue to grow the business, even after an ownership change, is a testament to the HomeTeam model. Rather than franchisees relying on their own name for success, HomeTeam has built a concept that stands out; agents and homeowners will choose HomeTeam because they know they can trust the HomeTeam brand.

As the concept continues to expand, it is holding up well in a technology-forward world. While HomeTeam leverages technology to streamline some of its processes and ensure an exceptional customer experience, the further appeal of HomeTeam lies in the professionals who complete the inspections.

Looking to 2023, HomeTeam plans to grow with qualified franchisees in Phoenix, San Antonio, Seattle, Northern Virginia, Las Vegas and more. With continued interest, the concept is certainly on track to reach these goals, bringing the team model to even more communities nationwide.

The initial investment range to open a HomeTeam Inspection franchise is $50,100 to $76,800. For more information, visit https://www.hometeamfranchise.com/.
