With Unparalleled Corporate Support, First Time Franchisees Bring Lawn Doctor to San Antonio, Texas

Even though Rich and Patsy Anderson are new to Lawn Doctor's franchise system, they’re already experiencing success.

After 30 years of active military duty in the United States Air Force, Rich Anderson and his wife Patsy moved their family back to their home town in San Antonio, Texas. But because the couple wasn’t quite ready to retire, they decided to look into franchising opportunities.

The Andersons set out to partner with a very specific type of franchise. They wanted to run a small business that enabled them to serve their local community with a quality product. They also wanted to join a system that had a strong reputation among consumers, and a corporate support system that was proven to set its local business owners up for success. With nearly 50 years of experience in the lawn care industry, state of the art technology and comprehensive training, Lawn Doctor was the perfect fit.

“Lawn Doctor immediately stood out to us because they’re completely consumer oriented. We love that the brand helps people enjoy their families and their yards by providing the best lawn care services in the industry,” said Patsy. “At the end of the day, we provide a service that customers are consistently happy with. And if there’s ever an issue, we make it right. Our business model is as simple as that.”

Since opening for business on March 1, the Andersons’ business has taken off. Even though it’s just the two of them running the brand’s daily operations, they’ve already served over 100 customers. And that rapid growth isn’t expected to slow down any time soon—the Andersons are constantly fielding calls from prospective customers through referrals and strategic marketing efforts.

Getting the word out about the brand has been instrumental in the Andersons’ success. In order to engage the Northeast San Antonio community, they’ve worked closely with Lawn Doctor’s supportive corporate team. Between setting up Facebook ads to organizing a local garden show, the brand has been a part of their journey every step of the way.

“Lawn Doctor’s corporate team has been an amazing asset to our business. We can call them any time, and they’re always willing lend us a helping hand,” said Patsy. “Members of the Lawn Doctor team have visited us multiple times, and they’ve even walked through our clients’ lawns with us. Texas is especially hot during the summer, so they’ve made it a priority to help us identify specific weeds and services that will help us grow the healthiest lawns in the area.”

That heightened attention to both franchisee and customer service is part of what makes Lawn Doctor’s franchising opportunity stand out in the industry. Unparalleled services—like the brand’s mosquito and tick control treatment—ultimately make it possible for Lawn Doctor customers to make the most of their backyards. And by setting its local owners up for success, the brand will continue to expand across the country and solidify itself as the brand to beat in the booming lawn care industry.

“Lawn Doctor is perfectly positioned to become the dominating force in the industry—not just in a few specific regions, but across the country,” said Eric Martin, Lawn Doctor’s vice president of franchise development. “Franchisees like Rich and Patsy gives us a competitive advantage. By working together toward the same goal—to improve the health of our customers’ lawns—our growth potential is unlimited.”
