TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, a national, full-service moving franchise with more than 430 locations, has welcomed human resources professional Lindsay Gainor to its team as Vice President of HR and Talent Management. With more than a decade of human resources experience, both in private and public companies, Gainor is bringing her people-first approach to TWO MEN AND A TRUCK.

“Lindsay’s focus on people and passion for an inclusive, caring company culture makes her a natural fit for the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK team,” said President Randy Shacka. “We all look forward to seeing how she contributes to employee support and development efforts as we work toward the brand's core purpose of Moving People Forward®.”

Gainor previously worked with Acrisure as Senior Director of Talent Management, and she served as a People Operations Consultant for approximately 40 corporately owned McDonald’s restaurants for four years.

“My first interaction with the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK brand was as a customer. I’m former military, and when we first moved back to Michigan, my grandpa gifted us a move from TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. That was my first interaction with the brand, but later, I learned of this role,” Gainor said. “I didn’t realize how big the system was. Through the interview process, I got to know the company a lot better. I loved that it was started as a family-owned business and that it is largely franchised. Having worked with franchised brands before, I’m familiar with that model and I have a soft spot for small business owners. Franchisees are really the heartbeat of America. Knowing those two things only increased my interest in this role.”

As she moved through the interview process, Gainor said that meeting the people, experiencing the company's culture in person and seeing how the brand operated on a day-to-day basis affirmed her choice. Now, in her new role, Gainor is providing additional support to the larger system.

In the Michigan Support Center, she will work closely with other members of ServiceMaster® Brands’ human resources teams to create and support employee development initiatives and engagement programs for corporate employees and local team members with the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, TWO MEN AND A JUNK TRUCK® and Merry Maids® brands.

“The strategic people leadership side of things is focused primarily on being supportive of Randy and the future of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK,” Gainor said. “We also cross-collaborate with a team of people who are more franchise-facing. We think about things like what we’re doing on a broader level, whether it’s helpful to franchisees and what we can do to bring more value to people. The people landscape in business is ever-changing, so it’s important that we stay in close contact with teams who have boots on the ground.”

As she works with the leadership team on the larger vision of the company, Gainor said she will also play a key role in the talent management process, bringing strategies to life around development, learning, performance, management, engagement, diversity, equity and inclusion.

Looking toward her future with the brand, Gainor said she will embrace two key ideals that have served her well thus far. The first, from her time as a Girl Scout — “Leave it better than you found it” — reminds her to always consider the ways in which she can improve the spaces she works in, people she interacts with and programs she touches.

To back this up, a sort of “say yes and figure out how later” mentality empowers Gainor to keep an open mind and remain receptive to any possible improvements. While she will maintain a level of discernment in her decision-making, Gainor recognizes how valuable exploration and collaboration can be to development, especially in a forward-thinking organization like TWO MEN AND A TRUCK.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting and working with individual franchise owners to learn more about their daily lives. One of the best mentors I’ve ever had said, ‘Always be a student of the business,’ and that’s what I plan to do here,” she said. “The better I understand the business, the better I can help support it. With feedback from people at all levels of the organization, I can get a complete picture in my mind of how the business works, and I can do my part to support the countless small business owners with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK across the country.”
