TWO MEN AND A TRUCK

When Garret Peterman began working at <a href="https://franchise.twomenandatruck.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=two-men-and-a-truck-focuses-on-moving-people-forward-2704558" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">TWO MEN AND A TRUCK</a> in 2003 at just 17-years-old, he thought he would enjoy his summer gig as a mover. He never imagined that a job he had as a teenager would serve as the foundation of a life-long career.

&ldquo;When I started at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, I just needed a job, and being a mover was something fun that I enjoyed. It felt like I was getting paid to work out,&rdquo; said Peterman. &ldquo;But then I began to realize that this company offered a lot more than just a job. I started seeing people growing within the company, and I wanted to create a career for myself at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. When I was working as a mover, I thought, &lsquo;Man, it sure would be cool to own one of these someday.&rsquo;&rdquo;

Three years later, in 2006, a position at <a href="https://twomenandatruck.1851franchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=two-men-and-a-truck-focuses-on-moving-people-forward-2704558" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">TWO MEN AND A TRUCK</a>&rsquo;s Home Office in Lansing, Mich., became available, and Peterman applied with hopes to continue his path at the company. He was hired as a franchise development specialist to provide ongoing support and to help franchisees optimize their operations and run their businesses more efficiently. He experienced first-hand how much support franchisees get from the Home Office team, and his dream of becoming a franchisee resurfaced.

&ldquo;In 2006, I realized that TWO MEN AND A TRUCK was the type of company I wanted to grow my career with and be involved with for a long time. I stopped thinking that it would be cool to own a franchise, and I made owning a location one day a real goal,&rdquo; Peterman said.

&ldquo;One day&rdquo; came sooner than he expected.

In 2012, Peterman and his wife decided they were ready to open their own franchise, and visited Wichita, Kansas because there was an open territory there and they wanted to see if it was somewhere they could see themselves raising a family. The Petermans were surprised with how friendly the people were and almost immediately knew Wichita would be their new home. Peterman also said he knew Wichita&rsquo;s demographics would be able to support a moving company and it was the logical next step in his career.

&ldquo;After working for the company for nearly a decade, my dream of becoming a franchisee finally came true. When I worked for Home Office, I helped franchisees get their start and now I get to put to use what I taught for so many years,&rdquo; Peterman said.

His Wichita location is in the process of adding its 13th truck and has a 97 percent referral rating. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK&rsquo;s entire mission is to exceed customer expectations and create a positive, stress-free experience for each and every customer. His 97 percent rating is a testament to the hard work he and his team put in on a daily basis.

Peterman credits his success to the support from TWO MEN AND A TRUCK&rsquo;s Home Office staff and his hard-working team members. His employees are constantly setting new goals, finding creative ways to achieve them, growing in their roles and never losing sight of the importance of providing top-notch customer service.

&ldquo;My experience as a franchisee has shown me that anything is possible with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK.,&rdquo; Peterman said. &ldquo;If you have a hard-working mindset and enjoy making a positive impact in your community, then this is the company for you.&rdquo;

He notes that TWO MEN AND A TRUCK has given him the opportunity to become ingrained within his community, and more importantly, the ability to give back to those in need. He recently teamed up with Passageways in Wichita, an initiative that provides housing for veterans and homeless people needing hospice services. In a few short months, Peterman and his team have provided more than 40 free moves to veterans.

Peterman also recently spearheaded a donation drive to help those affected in Houston by Hurricane Harvey. He and his team collected more than 50 boxes of cleaning supplies, including bleach, masks and rubber gloves, then drove them to Houston in a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK moving truck and delivered them to people in need.

&ldquo;When something this terrible happens, you help. It&rsquo;s just what you do. It&rsquo;s one of the things I love most about TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. I&rsquo;ve been given the opportunity to be so involved with my local community, and even faraway communities like Houston, and to be able to help in an impactful way.&rdquo;

Peterman&rsquo;s journey with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK doesn&rsquo;t end there, though. He plans to continue helping his community and growing his business. The mover-turned-franchisee is expected to open another TWO MEN AND A TRUCK in the near future.
