When you are looking to start a business, everyone has those moments where you question your decision and your sanity.  But perhaps Mark Twain said it best, “the secret of getting ahead is getting started.”

Often the key to starting and staying the course is finding something that inspires you and makes you look forward to the journey ahead. Buffalo Wings & Rings believes in its people and that they make the brand.  It is why so many franchisees find success and have passion that is leading the charge in the brand’s expansion efforts.

Todd Fetter, Waynesfield, Ohio –Buffalo Wings & Rings is Todd Fetter’s first franchise business and he has nothing but compliments for his franchisors.

“The support system is great. You can pick up a phone and call any of the Wings & Rings owners directly. Maybe they won’t handle the issue directly but they will help you find the answer, and if they miss the call they’ll return it. It’s very personal,” explained Fetter.

Todd Misselt, Omaha NE – Misselt became the first and only Buffalo Wings & Rings franchisee in Omaha in 2010.  He is now toying with the idea of opening a second location.

“I chose Buffalo Wings & Rings because it was a growing brand and they only require a commitment to one store. In franchising right now most brands make you commit to 4-5 units, which is a lot of money and a lot of risk. Buffalo Wings & Rings is also a smaller franchise, which means that franchisees have more of a voice. Since opening in July 2010, we have continued to grow as a successful business. It’s been an interesting experience that has given me an education I can’t buy anywhere else,” said Misselt.

Bill Smith and Eugene Dunne, Shelby Township, MI – Bill Smith had always wanted to open his own restaurant. Time doesn’t slow down, so he thought if he didn’t make it happen then it wasn’t going to. He spent a few months researching the company and finally decided to take the buy-out with his current company and move forward with Buffalo Wings & Rings. Smith extended the offer of a partnership to Eugene Dunne, and traveled to Cincinnati together to check out some stores. “We both liked what we saw and agreed to go into business together, the rest is history,” said Smith. A successful restaurant, they currently have 20 employees.

Mike Weyer, Jasper/Bedford, IN – Mike Weyer was inspired to open his own Buffalo Wings & Rings after visiting the Richmond location in 2007. At the time, Mike was a long-term and active football, soccer and baseball coach, and his Little League team had made it to the State Championships. The team and their families visited the Buffalo Wings & Rings every day because they loved the product so much, which ultimately led to Mike’s decision to bring the brand to his hometown of Jasper. Now, Mike owns two restaurants and partners with Todd Fetter in managing his Piqua store.

At Buffalo Wings & Rings I think we’re heading in the right direction and we have the right CEO. Our biggest strength is our food platform, and the corporate team is getting a handle on how they want stores to look and feel,” said Weyer.

Jasper, IN is one of the top performing stores in the chain, and number one in small market stores. Bedford was up 12-15 percent in sales last year, and Weyer expects 15 percent growth this year.
