Indianapolis Business Journal: Sylvan Learning Franchisee Updates Local Centers

Kent Kolbow, one of Sylvan Learning's most successful franchise operators, is expanding once again. This time, Kolbow takes over three Indianapolis-based centers with the intentions of relocating and rejuvenating them. 

With the acquisition, Kolbow now owns 10 of Indiana's 18 Sylvan Learning* centers. He'll begin to roll out the three new-look centers over the course of the next few months.

“These have, in my opinion, the most potential in Indiana,” he told the Indianapolis Business Journal. 

While few Sylvan owners still teach, Kolbow is one of the exceptions. He began his career with the supplemental education franchise as a tutor in Fort Wayne before becoming a franchisee within the system, and still tutors to this day.
