Smoothie King has big plans for Phoenix, including a lofty goal of 70 stores open in the metro Phoenix area. The company sent their officials to visit the area and identify potential real estate.

The company currently has five stories in Phoenix and Mesa that feature healthy fitness and wellness blends.

"We are very focused on purpose," Tom O'Keefe, president of Smoothie King told The Arizona Republic reporter. "Smoothies can play a role in a lot of different peoples' lives. Some people are very focused on weight loss. We have great alternatives for them. Some are focused on bulking up. We have great products for that as well. We are not just a treat place."

Kevin King told the reporter they would like to see sever to 10 stores open in the area within the next 18 months.

"This is a 43-year-old brand that in the last three years has gone through a brand renaissance of sorts," O'Keefe told the reporter. "It certainly has stood the test of time. We think there is plenty of runway left. We are a long way off from saturation."
