AI technology is changing the restaurant business, from voice ordering options to customer-identifying kiosks.

AI-driven restaurant experiences “have the potential to boost sales and delight customers,” according to an article in QSR magazine. And the world of artificial intelligence is no longer simply the purview of data scientists: technology has taken a central role in, and will continue to impact, the restaurant industry, according to the article.
According to QSR, some “existing and emerging examples” include: “voice ordering” much like Amazon’s Alexa function, “kiosks that recognize you” via facial recognition (and therefore know your regular order), “better scheduling capabilities” with the “help of technology that can forecast labor demand, handle on-call shifts, and allow employees to swap shifts with little intervention from the manager” and more.
“Your customers and employees have already embraced digital in their personal lives. It’s time to make sure you can keep up with them,” the article recommends.
