Ex-Subway Spokesman to Plead Guilty, Pay Victims $1.4 Million
The disgraced ex-Subway spokesman, Jared Fogle, struck a plea deal with prosecutors in which he agreed to plead guilty to sex with minors and child pornography. This is a historic plea deal, according to federal prosecutors. Fogle will pay each of his victims $100,000 leading to $1.4 million in total restitution. Fogle now faces up to 14 years in prison. The company has since severed ties with Fogle.

There’s a New Colonel in Town
The late founder of the fast food chain KFC was reintroduced to fans this summer by “Saturday Night Live” announcer and former cast member, Darrell Hammond. This past Sunday, the brand replaced Hammond with follow “SNL” alum, Norm MacDonald. This comes after one out of five people were said to hate the Hammond ads, according to Yum! Brands CEO Greg Creed.

Jersey Mike’s Debuts New Sandwich
The new Oven Roasted Chicken Club will be the newest addition to the Jersey Mike’s menu. The new limited time only menu item features oven-roasted, extra lean 98 percent fat-free chicken breast sliced to order, bacon, mayonnaise and it’s served the signature Mike’s way with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and "the juice" (a red wine vinegar and olive oil blend). This sandwich is an extension of the brand's success with chicken-based sammies in the past months.

Burger 21 Launched New Burger and Shake
The fast casual franchise Burger 21 is adding two LTO items to its menu: The Loaded Spud Burger and the White Chocolate Raspberry Shake. The Loaded Spud Burger features a Certified Angus Beef patty on a layer of scallion cream topped with cheddar cheese, chopped bacon and potato crisps. The White Chocolate Raspberry Shake will be a blend of vanilla ice cream, Ghirardelli white chocolate sauce and Monin Raspberry Puree. The two new items will be available from August 21 to September 20, 2015.

PizzaRev is Going South of the Border
PizzaRev is heading to Mexico. The fast casual pizza chain has signed a franchise agreement with Grupo Galeria to bring PizzaRev to Mexico. The deal calls for 20 PizzaRev restaurants to be developed throughout Mexico City and the states of Mexico, Nuevo León and Coahuila. The fast casual pizza model is new to Mexico, and Grupo Galeria CEO Antonio Barceló believes the faster, healthier pizza option will resonate with the lunch and dinner crowds in Mexico.
