He was already very familiar with the<a href="https://1851franchise.com/scoopsoldiers">&nbsp;Scoop Soldiers</a> brand at the time, as he joined the corporate team in 2017 as an operations manager. He stayed with the team for several years and got to know the brand intimately before deciding to branch out and open his own Scoop Soldiers franchise.But, what does a day in the life of a Scoop Soldiers franchise owner look like?Speaking to 1851 Franchise, McCoy says, on a daily basis, he checks in with his team to make sure they’re prepared for their workloads. He ensures the team has all the resources they need to complete their jobs, and he makes it a point to frequently check in with his technicians throughout the day.Unlike traditional businesses, Scoop Soldiers does not have a physical storefront. Instead, McCoy has trucks that his employees take with them, allowing the brand to spread out into different areas and take on more work. This approach has been successful for the franchise and McCoy, who is already planning to expand his operations into Tennessee.According to McCoy, his ownership of Scoop Soldiers has allowed him to create a balance between his work and personal life, which allows him to get outside and spend time with his family. When he’s not actively working, he likes to be outdoors playing basketball and rock climbing. But even when he’s out and about, he’s still working. McCoy says he’s the furthest thing from an absentee owner, and at any point, if he gets a call, text or email from one of his staff or clients, he drops what he’s doing to make sure they’re being supported.“I’ve learned how to work on the go. And truth be told, that’s one of the aspects I love most about Scoop Soldiers. I can do 95% of the work I need to do right from my phone. So, when my family and I travel, I’m still in touch and in tune with everything going on,” McCoy said.McCoy says he likes being in business for himself because instead of working long hours in a corporate job, he’s able to enjoy the financial freedom and flexibility that comes with being a successful business owner. However, he acknowledges that now that he’s in charge, he’s always thinking about the business.“The financial freedom of owning your own business is really refreshing. But the hardest part is that you have to watch everything a lot more closely, especially your finances. Your end goal is to make and keep money, so you have to watch what you’re spending and always be aware of what’s happening behind the scenes,” he said.In addition to his plans for expansion, McCoy is also considering hiring an operations supervisor to help lighten his load. For anyone thinking about following his path into franchising with Scoop Soldiers, McCoy says it’s been one of the most rewarding endeavors he’s ever taken on.“It’s great. It provides you with freedom and flexibility, the ability to work remotely and it has a low overhead.
