What did you do before franchising, and how did you decide franchising made sense for you?Kalpesh Bhandari: I have been in business since 2001, engaging in multiple lines of business. I have been in Valley, Alabama, for the last 16 years, focusing on retail sales. During this time, I had the opportunity to develop some real estate in Valley, bringing in national brands. One of these was a coffee shop, and the second is Beef 'O' Brady's. This is how we started our franchise with a restaurant bar and grill. We signed up with Beef 'O' Brady's to bring a unique food concept to Valley, Alabama.1851: What was your perception of franchising prior to becoming a franchisee, and what do you want people to know about franchising now that you are in it?Bhandari: Before becoming a franchisee, I viewed franchising as a way to bring recognizable brands into local communities, benefiting residents with new food and entertainment options. Now that I am in it, I want people to know that franchising is about more than just food. It's about creating a space where people can socialize, bring their families and enjoy quality time together.
