Beef 'O' Brady's is targeting Jacksonville as one of its largest remaining growth opportunities in Florida, building on renewed brand momentum and a franchise model centered on neighborhood restaurants rather than traditional sports bars. During a recent appearance on This Week in Jacksonville: Business Edition, Chief Operating Officer Scott SirLouis said the 40-year-old brand has 85 locations across Florida but sees significant room for expansion in the Jacksonville market.
"Jacksonville is the one part of Florida that we still have opportunity to grow in," SirLouis said. "Jacksonville is a great family market. Beef 'O' Brady's is a core family brand. We describe ourselves as a family sports pub."
According to SirLouis, the brand's recent development pipeline has accelerated, with new restaurants continuing to open and sales volumes increasing. Beef 'O' Brady's expects to open between nine and 12 new locations nationwide this year, with Jacksonville representing a strategic priority because of its population growth and proximity to the brand's existing Florida footprint.
Rather than relying on high-profile retail corridors, Beef 'O' Brady's uses data-driven site selection to identify neighborhood shopping centers where guests naturally become repeat customers. The company analyzes anonymized market data to identify areas with the greatest franchise potential before evaluating individual sites.
“We use a site analytics model, and they forecast the potential for any location in America based on cell phone tracking data and credit card purchase history,” SirLouis said. “I just looked at it this morning and in the Jacksonville market, it says that there are potentially [eight] locations in the Jacksonville DMA.”
That neighborhood-first strategy is reflected inside the restaurants as well. Larger booths, game rooms and a family-friendly atmosphere are designed to encourage regular visits from local families, youth sports teams and community groups.
With guests visiting more than four times per month on average, the brand believes convenience, familiarity and community connections continue to differentiate Beef 'O' Brady's from traditional sports bars, creating long-term opportunities for franchisees as the company expands throughout Florida.
