OWENSBORO, Ky. — Beef ‘O’ Brady’s, the family sports pub franchise known for its award-winning wings, is recognizing franchisees Barry and Stacy Bratcher after their Owensboro restaurant earned the Highest Sales Volume Award at the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s parent company FSC Franchise Co.’s 2026 Conference. The award recognizes the location for recording the highest sales volume in the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s system in 2025.
The recognition adds to a long record of success for the Bratchers, who opened their Beef ‘O’ Brady’s at 3189 Fairview Drive in April 2006 despite having no previous restaurant experience. Barry worked in biotechnology at the time, while Stacy had worked in the dental field and was a stay-at-home mom. They began looking at franchise opportunities to help pay for their three children's education.
“We had young kids, so that was perfect for us,” Stacy Bratcher told the Messenger-Inquirer in 2025. “We liked that Beef’s helped to support its communities.”
The couple has been the company's top seller by volume for several consecutive years. Much of that success has come from the team the Bratchers have built. As the restaurant became more established, they gradually stepped back from day-to-day operations and gave their managers more responsibility for running the business. Stacy has continued to oversee fundraising, donations and sponsorship requests, maintaining the restaurant's connection to local schools, churches and families.
"Barry and Stacy have built something special in Owensboro," said Chris Elliott, CEO of FSC Franchise Co. “They came into this business with no restaurant experience and turned their location into the top performer in our system, year after year. A big part of that is the team they've developed. They invested in their managers, gave them real ownership of the operation and stayed connected to the community through Stacy's work with local schools, churches and families. That combination of strong leadership and deep local roots is exactly what Beef 'O' Brady's is about, and we're proud to recognize them.”
The restaurant has also adapted to its customers' needs. The Bratchers expanded the location in 2012, increasing seating capacity, and completed a major remodel in 2019 that added a drive-thru pickup window. The addition proved especially valuable during the pandemic, when carryout became an important part of the restaurant's business.
Nearly two decades after opening, the Bratchers have also watched longtime customers return with new generations of their families. Some guests who first visited Beef ‘O’ Brady’s as children now bring their own children to the restaurant.
The 2026 award continues the Owensboro location's strong performance. In 2022, the Bratchers were named Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Franchisee of the Year after posting what was then the highest sales in company history. It marked their fourth time earning the Franchisee of the Year honor.
As the Owensboro location celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, the Bratchers remain focused on the location they have spent two decades building rather than adding another restaurant.
"This restaurant is like a child to us," Stacy told the Messenger-Inquirer. “I've also tried to really invest in my staff, so I think that would be hard to replicate, too.”
The highest sales volume award marks another achievement for a restaurant that has been part of the Owensboro community for more than two decades.
