With more than 650 locations worldwide, Smoothie King is looking to make Decatur, Georgia, its next priority.

According to Deidra Evans, owner of a Smoothie King in downtown Decatur, smoothies aren’t just a fad, they’re here to stay. Evans, the new owner of the Smoothie King in Decatur, recently took over the location when she was looking for business opportunities in the area.

“I’m from New Orleans so this company especially appealed to me,” Evans told The Champion.

She also felt that the brand’s franchise model would allow her to run the business after she retired.

But, most importantly, Evans felt connected to the most important thing about the brand: its smoothies. Their array of healthful products contributes to the brand’s mission “to make living a healthier, more active lifestyle delicious and nutritious.”

“This is a great product, and it’s really a good fit for me.”

Evans explained that some customers are seeking to lose weight, some want more energy and some simply want to move toward including more fruits, vegetables and nutrients in their diets.

In such a health-conscious community like Decatur, Smoothie King seems to be a great fit.

“Decatur is an ideal place for Smoothie King. It’s such a health-conscious area. People are serious about fitness. It’s a great place in so many ways—great people, great restaurants, wonderful cultural opportunities,” she told The Champion.
