BooXkeeping stands out in the crowded world of franchising with its unique, hands-on training and onboarding approach. This system is particularly attractive to franchisees from diverse professional backgrounds, thanks to the personalized and adaptable nature of the training model. Co-founders Max and Elena Emma have created a franchise culture that not only fosters personal growth but also ensures that each new franchisee feels fully prepared and supported from day one.

1851 Franchise spoke with the Emmas, along with BooXkeeping franchisee Carlos Aracena, to learn more about how the brand’s robust and hands-on approach to onboarding and training prepares franchisees for success.

Before a franchisee signs on with BooXkeeping, the onboarding process begins with a discovery call. This gives potential franchisees an early opportunity to ask important questions, gain insights and determine if BooXkeeping is the right fit for them. After joining, the training process unfolds in multiple stages to cater to a franchisee’s individual needs.

“We do several stages of training, starting with a comprehensive two-week training that covers every single aspect you need, followed by more specialized sessions depending on the franchisee’s specific needs," said Elena.

Aracena, who owns a BooXkeeping franchise in Charlotte, North Carolina, credits this comprehensive training model for his successful start. "I don’t have a background in bookkeeping,” he said, “but the way they explained it in the training was very practical and simple. It really changed my perspective on accounting."

This tailored, methodical training approach allows franchisees like Aracena, who have varying levels of experience, to feel confident in their new roles from day one.

"We customize the system,” said Elena.” Some franchisees need more help with sales and marketing; others need more support on the bookkeeping side. We rotate our onboarding and training throughout the first year to focus on all three aspects: skills, sales and marketing, and entrepreneurship."

The BooXkeeping training model doesn’t end after the initial onboarding. Franchisees receive ongoing support through mentoring calls and regular check-ins. The leadership team understands the value of consistent support on an ongoing basis.

"We provide accounting school of course, but we also provide six months of sales training and one year of executive coaching," said Max. “For those who watched ‘Billions’ on Showtime, we have our own Wendy in-house. That's what Elena does. She's a PhD and has degrees in psychology and accounting, so she's combining all of that experience to support our franchisees.”

This level of attention and care is not always possible with larger brands, but as a young franchise, BooXkeeping is able to go above and beyond.

“As far as we know, no other franchise brand is offering this level of support and direct access to the co-founders,” said Max. “Because we are an emerging brand, that gives us the advantage to be able to listen and adjust the training curriculum based on the needs and requests from our franchisees.”

This access to expert guidance while building his businesses has been incredibly impactful for Aracena.

“Every Monday, we have a Town Hall meeting,” he said. “We can bring up any issues, and receive feedback, share wisdom peer-to-peer or get help from the technical staff.”

In addition to helping franchisees to grow their business, the support also helps them feel comfortable in their role by building meaningful relationships. The BooXkeeping culture makes this inevitable by creating a sense of belonging and shared experience where franchisees are encouraged to succeed together.

"You have your business, but you also have a community,” said Aracena. “You can always ask for help."

BooXkeeping’s hands-on training model, coupled with the supportive, collaborative culture, has positioned the franchise as an attractive opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs. Through a personalized, ongoing approach to training, franchisees are equipped to build thriving businesses while feeling part of a larger, connected community.
