Buffalo Wings & Rings finished a stellar 2017 on a high note, with the strengthening of the brand’s home market presence in the form of a highly successful December opening in Cincinnati’s Oakley Station. Now as the calendar turns to 2018, the restaurant brand is focusing on increasing its already legendary internal franchisee support system with three new corporate team hires.
New Regional Marketing Manager John Tuset, Staff Accountant Amber Gibson, and Information Technology Manager John Blank recently joined the Buffalo Wings & Rings ranks as the brand continues to invest heavily in accounting, marketing, and new technology.
“In 2017 we continued to invest in our employees and franchisees, and we recently brought three new people into the corporate team to fill brand new positions,” said Buffalo Wings & Rings CEO Nader Masadeh. “Moving forward into 2018, we are also looking to fill a chief operating officer role, a local store marketing position in Texas, and a system analyst.”
On the accounting side, Chief Development Officer Philip Schram said that it has always been the company’s intention to keep building an in-house team, one he feels will get significantly stronger with the hiring of Gibson to the Staff Accountant position.
“Since day one, we've kept our accounting in-house as part of our strategy,” said Schram. “It gives us a good pulse on the money, and we've been profitable every single year. We've never foolishly spent money - quite the opposite. It's well-handled and allows us to do great things for our franchisees.”
Gibson joins the team with a background in the industry, having spent several years with Texas Roadhouse.
“The restaurant industry is a fun one and was a big part of what I looked at in the position,” said Gibson. “I was on the other side, working in the restaurant, and now to be in the same industry is exciting.”
John Blank also brings a strong history in the restaurant space to his new role as IT Manager, consisting of experience in writing software specifically for food and restaurant brands such as Coca Cola and Hooters.
“I've done IT for 30 years,” said Blank. “I was not planning to come back in-house into any concept, but the standards, morals and ethics at here are top notch - and that's driven by the ownership at Buffalo Wings & Rings and specifically my boss (Chief Financial Officer Sandy Ritter). Everyone has the same vision and everyone here lives it.”
That top-down belief and vision bleeds into the brand’s overall strategy of fueling growth by winning over one guest at a time. Now that strategy will be amplified with the addition of John Tuset, who will use his background in QSR and fast casual with Taco John's International and Dunn Brothers Coffee to help boost local store marketing initiatives across the Buffalo Wings & Rings franchise system.
“My role will really be to help beef up our infrastructure and to make it easy for franchisees to find meaningful local marketing success,” said Tuset. “Buffalo Wings & Rings is already poised for excellent expansion and fast growth, and it is my job to put the processes and infrastructure in place to allow our great franchisees to continue to grow their business.”
While Tuset, Gibson, and Blank all bring different skills and experience to their new positions, the thread connecting the new corporate hires is clear: Buffalo Wings & Rings is doubling down on its mission to foster and support a franchise system that continues to thrive and appears primed for even more growth in the years ahead.
