Busy Bee Jumpers is targeting New Hampshire and Southern Maine for franchise growth as the inflatables and party rentals franchise builds on demand already coming from both markets. The brand's first three franchise locations have been serving customers in New Hampshire and Maine, giving the company an early indication that there is room for dedicated territories in the region.

"We find that by having three active owner-operators out in the field, the reviews have been fantastic," said founder Sal Longo. "This has led to a lot of excitement to serve the surrounding areas, which is the greatest compliment a franchisor can have."

Busy Bee provides inflatable rentals and other entertainment for children's parties, school functions, community events and other gatherings. The brand is concentrating its initial franchise growth in the Northeast, building outward from the markets its existing owners already serve.

Existing Demand Creates an Opportunity for Local Ownership

New Hampshire and Southern Maine stand out because Busy Bee is already receiving calls from customers in those areas. Longo said the market also fits the company's core customer base of parents with children ages 2 to 12.

"There are a lot of young families that are moving to Southern New Hampshire or Maine," Longo said. “It's a very cost-effective place to live, and people are moving out of the bigger cities. These markets are growing, and they are prime for us with young families. We are receiving a lot of calls to service them.”

Opening franchise territories closer to those customers would give Busy Bee a more efficient way to meet demand already coming from New Hampshire and Southern Maine. Local owners could spend less time traveling to events and establish a stronger presence within their territories.

"By having that grassroots presence and building relationships with schools, towns, municipalities and others, we can continue to get in front of parents," Longo said. "That is why we want to grow in concentric circles around existing locations. We want to be close by and help people quickly."

A Seasonal Business Built for the Northeast

Busy Bee has also structured its model around the Northeast's seasonal nature.

"What we've done in the Northeast is prepare our franchisees to work hard in the spring, summer and fall and use the winter to prepare for growth in the following year," Longo said.

That cycle can give owners time during the slower months to work on local marketing, build relationships and prepare for the return of warmer weather. Longo sees that model translating naturally into New Hampshire and Maine because the markets experience similar seasonal patterns.

Busy Bee is currently targeting three territories across New Hampshire and Southern Maine. The company also sees additional room for growth elsewhere in New England, including Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Growing Close to Home

Busy Bee has been franchising for about a year and a half, and Longo said the experience has clarified how he wants to build the system in its early stages. Rather than accepting opportunities far from the brand's existing footprint, he wants to keep new owners relatively close to the company and one another.

"Because I have a relationship with these franchisees, there is that foundational trust that is built," he said. “That is crucial in our early years as we grow this offering and iron out those pain points.”

Keeping new territories nearby would make it easier for Busy Bee to support franchise owners as they get established. As more locations open in the same region, each one can also help introduce the brand to customers in neighboring markets.

New Hampshire and Southern Maine represent the next piece of that expansion. Existing franchise locations are already proving that customers in the region are willing to call Busy Bee Jumpers for parties and events. Dedicated local owners would give the brand an opportunity to serve that demand closer to home while developing the community relationships that have helped drive its early growth.
