Dr. Olga Duenas-Jolly has worked in education for over 30 years, in roles ranging from school counselor, to family counselor, to tutor. Helping children of all ages learn at the preschool, elementary, high school and college level has diversified her background, making her well equipped for her latest venture opening a Best in Class education center in Anaheim Hills, California, where she and her husband, Vik, are comanaging owners.

“Learning has been very important my whole life,” Jolly said. “My parents were extremely supportive and encouraged me to always keep moving forward. They always prioritized the importance of learning over good grades - that emphasis has stuck with me,” she explained. Her interest in education started at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California. Jolly then attended Cal State Fullerton, where she studied child development. “I got my bachelor’s and master's degrees there, as did my husband. He is still currently an adjunct professor there,” she added.

After receiving her PhD in Psychology from Saybrook University last summer, Jolly began exploring franchise opportunities that gave her the opportunity to help children progress in their education and make learning more fun. “My husband and I have three children, two in their twenties and another in middle school. Raising children helped me realize how important enrichment programs are and the difference they can make,” Jolly said.

Jolly drew on her three decades of experience in education and personal experience when evaluating various education franchise concepts to find the right fit. “I looked at several companies and Best in Class really stood out to me,” Jolly said. “I went to Seattle to meet the corporate team and believed in their passion and enthusiasm for education.”

Sharon Peterson, VP of Franchise Recruitment & Development, worked with Jolly for a few months as she explored Best in Class.

“Her passion for education and desire to work with students is incredible. She's seasoned in the industry and that means the world to us,” Peterson said. “As a mom with three kids, Olga understands the importance of positivity in learning. She is a strong advocate for continuing education for kids, which is why Best in Class is a great fit.”

Strong curriculum, materials and structure were some of the most compelling aspects of Best in Class that ultimately convinced Jolly to sign on with the brand. “I love how Best in Class does individualized assessments for students and how they begin working at the level a child is currently at to help them move forward and develop critical thinking skills,” Jolly said.

Jolly is excited for her newest endeavor in franchise ownership because of her personal connection to education and learning. “I know what parents are going through and the challenges of helping your kids through their education,” she said, adding, “I know how important a solid supplemental program is. My husband and I are really excited to share our love for academic excellence with other families and children in the Anaheim Hills area.
