Orlando Sentinel: Checkers & Rally's Brings Bold Flavor at an Amazing Price to Central Florida
Checkers & Rally's plans to add 30 new restaurants to its ever-growing network in Central Florida.
Restaurants like Checkers, Culver's and Dairy Queen are expanding into Central Florida.
Checkers specifically is looking to 30 new restaurants.
Longwood retiree Larry Weddle, while not eating fast food often, is willing to make the trek for a restaurant he loves.
"I came 12 miles from Longwood just to eat here," said Weddle while dining on a cheeseburger and fries at Checkers in Sanford. "Burgers and fries are still great."
Checkers is looking to double from 33 to 63 stores in the region, said chief development officer Jennifer Durham. The team is starting with restaurants inside Wal-Mart stores and the company recently opened a new location in Sanford.
"The reason that Checkers exists is that we have bold flavors at an amazing value," Durham said. The Tampa-based franchise has 830 stores nationwide and 84 more under construction.
