Cincinnati.com: Family restaurant welcomes new leader

Seven years ago, Lisa Koenes starting working at Beef ‘O’Brady’s as a bartender. After years of hard work and determination, Lisa is now taking the reigns as owner with her husband, Brian, at the Union, Ky., restaurant.

In Koenes’ seven years, she has done it all–served, managed, cleaned the kitchen, plunged the toilets and helped build a family atmosphere. The restaurant has become more than a place for the community to come and eat; it’s a family-friendly hangout staffed by workers that treats one another like family.

"It really is a family atmosphere. It's as much of a family restaurant as it is a bar. Anyone can home here and have a good time,” she told Cincinnati.com.

In addition to the full bar and full menu, Beef O'Brady's in Union has a game room, trivia and Keno. Koenes also plans to add 10 new craft and local beer taps at the bar and possibly expand to an additional location in the future.
